HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS EPISODE:

I’m going to be sharing with you a little hack that I learned a few years ago. I have used it with all my students and it really was amazing how much it changed their reading, particularly the children who were struggling.

It changed how they were approaching reading and what their attitude to reading was.

Most of the time when we are reading with children, we are usually looking for fiction books. But, they do need a mix of fiction and non-fiction books.

TOPICS COVERED:
  • Why children need non-fiction along with fiction books
  • The power offering non-fiction can have for an early reader
  • Reflecting on what we read as adults
  • The challenges with sourcing non-fiction texts
  • Why is can be very useful for an older struggling reader
