In this episode about the stages of blending

What is Blending?
Blending is the process of combining individual sounds to form words, a fundamental skill for early readers.

Stages of Blending
Children progress through stages of blending: verbal blending, assisted blending, independent blending, automatic blending, and eventually silent reading.

Verbal Blending
This initial stage involves putting sounds together without visual letters, focusing purely on phonemic awareness.

Assisted Blending
In this stage, parents or educators support children by sounding out words together, helping them grasp the concept of blending.

Independent Blending
As children gain confidence, they begin to sound out words and blend them together without external help.

Moving to Automatic Blending
The final stage is automatic blending, where children blend sounds in their heads and read fluidly, leading to independent reading success.
